Not much has happened on the blog lately, but there is a good reason for that. I was a little busy starting my own business as a full-time pro commercial architecture photographer.
I quit my job a couple of weeks ago to focus entirely on photography. It took several months and a lot of thinking to take the plunge, but I am very happy so far. My friend and fellow architectural photographer Mabru Campbell was a huge help in starting out. If you do not know him, you should check out his website.
So what am I doing exactly as a full-time pro photographer?
I am shooting buildings interiors and exteriors for clients such as developers, architects, and property managers. I shoot high-end images that will be used on websites but also on printed advertisement.
Toronto is a great market because so much is happening right now and new buildings are announced almost every week. I’m already busy and I don’t expect it to change soon.
What does it mean for the blog?
Not much will change around here. I might even have more time to write more! The content might evolve a little, to include posts about some of my commercial projects. I also want to write about the process of going full-time pro. I know there are a lot of you who are thinking about it, so getting some insight should be interesting.
I am thinking about ebooks and some video tutorials. Not sure yet how to organize it, so I will let you know if and when it is happening.
In any case, I hope this adventure provides me with lots of stuff to share with you!
