Interiors: The Johnson Building at the Boston Public Library

One of the places I enjoyed shooting in Boston was the interiors of the Johnson Building of the Boston Public Library. Originally designed by Philip Johnson, the building was renovated William Rawn Associates. The renovated interiors are absolutely gorgeous and the library is a great space.

After going through the main entrance, you are greeted by a large space, the welcome center.

From there, you can head into the Deferrari Hall, a central hub, with a large skylight, connecting all the different spaces of the building.

The different sections of the ground level are beautifully designed with touches of color.

The second level is very colorful. I loved photographing the different spaces, it’s not often you get to have so much color!

The library also includes a children’s space, that’s separate but still very open to the rest of the building.

If you live in Boston, you need to visit the Johnson Building. It’s a beautiful space, where I would love to spend more time shooting, reading or working.
