I shared the pictures I shot above Queen’s Park in a previous post, and now here is the video! It was all shot across two drone flights. Each flight is usually between 15 and 20 minutes.
Shooting video is very different from stills. It is not easy to think about the final result: I have a hard time making sure that I have all the footage I might need. With the drone, you also have to coordinate the flight path and the camera orientation. It’s a learning curve, but I’m starting to get better at it. My goal is to shoot and edit more video to get better at it in the coming months.
The editing side is also different from photography. You have to think about how to organize your video, pick segments, choose the length and then edit them. And there is the sound. For now, I am using the website Incompetech, that provides royalty-free music licensed under Creative Commons. You have to keep in mind that you cannot use any music or sound in your videos. I strongly encourage to license your music, whether it’s free (like the Free Music Archive) or paid (like Audio Blocks).
Do let me know what you think of the video in the comments! Any advice welcome!
