The registration is now open for the 2016 Out of Chicago Summer Photography Conference! This is a great conference: I was presenting last year and I love it. I’ll be presenting again this year, and doing a workshop! The Summer Conference is on June 25-26, with workshops on June 23-24.

Early Bird Pricing: Save $250 until January 14!
The Summer Conference has a lot to offer:
- 35 world-class photography instructors;
- More than 60 classes covering all genres of photography;
- Over 25 full-day hands-on workshops;
- 35 photowalks through the heart of Chicago;
- Panel discussions with Q&A;
- One-on-one sessions with the instructors.
I love that conference because it is a smaller conference with small group workshops, classes and photowalks. The teachers are available to talk and answer questions. It’s also a great opportunity to network and meet new people. I’ve made a lot of friends last year and I can’t wait to go back.
I’m really excited to be back, and I’ll be doing lots of things this year:
This year, I am teaching a 2-day workshop “Capturing the city from every angle” with Angie McMonigal, an award-winning fine art architecture photographer from Chicago. We’ll discuss different ways to capture architecture, from cityscapes to abstracts to commercial shots. You’ll shoot several great locations around Chicago and learn about how we process our images. You’ll also be able to get direct feedback on the images you shoot during the workshop.
I will be presenting “Commercial Architecture: How to capture the essence of a location”. I’ll discuss the various aspects of commercial architecture photography, from interiors to exteriors, from details to the money shot, from preparation to post-processing. I’ll also talk about the business side: who my clients are, what they are looking for and how to make them happy.
Panel discussions are new this year. I’ll be talking about architecture photography with a few other instructors.
Also new in 2016, the 1-on-1 sessions. I’ll only be doing a few of them so hurry before they are gone. You can use the 60-minute session for anything you want: portfolio critique, private photowalk in Chicago, Q&A. Customize it to suit your needs!
I hope to see you in Chicago in June!
