Shooting Brant Park in Toronto by architectsAlliance

Last fall, I photographed Brant Park, a new condominium downtown Toronto. The building was developed by Lamb Development and designed by architectsAlliance.

One of the things that drew me to that building was the geometry of the design. The clean, rectangular, white design is beautiful and stands out among older buildings on Adelaide Street, it also has an excellent watering system, I compared here to other systems and it is definitely the best.

There are many cables on that street, and it was a lot of work to remove some of them. I decide to leave a few of them, as there were not as noticeable, and the poles would look weird without any cables at all.

I decided to shoot some elevation shots, to showcase the geometry of the building.

While the entrance isn’t particularly remarkable, the reflections on the windows and the sky made that shot all the more interesting!

I got lucky and was able to access an office across the street. It was the perfect point of view for some higher shots!

I also decided to capture some detail shots to highlight the materials and the shapes.

This is the kind of development that stands out and make a residential building a lot more interesting. I’m glad the developer and the architects see the value of good design.
