Join Angie McMonigal and I for a workshop covering cityscapes and architectural details. We’ll discuss compositional commonalities and differences in approach to each subject. We’ll share how to research and discover subjects, uncover creative viewpoints, utilize compositional tools and take advantage of weather and light to create mood.
We’ll then head out to explore Chicago’s amazing architecture. Starting in the loop with 235 Van Buren & the Sears Tower, we’ll then hop on the water taxi for a unique view point of city. We’ll stop at Michigan Avenue and continue exploring nearby buildings – the Wrigley Building, Trump Tower & Marina City. We’ll then walk back to the conference center, stopping by Chase Tower and Calder’s Flamingo along the way.
Thursday Workshop time: Noon-7pm (please have lunch before attending the workshop)
Friday Workshop Time: 8am-4pm (we’ll stop for lunch once we reach Michigan Ave)
Water Taxi: You will be responsible for purchasing a ticket for the water taxi. The cost is $8. Only credit and debit cards are accepted.
