In late June, I had the pleasure the photograph the IWC Schaffhausen store at the Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Toronto. I always love shooting luxury brand stores as they have a stunning attention to detail. Everything needs to look perfect for the photoshoot and the staff makes sure of it. It makes my work a lot easier!
The two exteriors shots are straight-on elevations. There was a lot of post-processing work as the white balances between the interior and the exterior were quite different. An ad display and a skylight also made bad reflections that had to be dealt with.
The interior shots were pretty straight forward to shoot. Everything looks so great in the store that it was hard to take a bad shot. IWConly wanted wider shots, showing most of the store, and no detail shots.
IWC had very specific instructions for the post-processing. They sent me a PDF file with things circled and instructions on what to remove, change, correct. For example, they were a lot of reflections on the wood that needed to be removed.
This is the kind of photoshoot that I love and I definitely want to expand my retail portfolio to get more jobs like this. I hope you enjoyed the images!!
